There is no greater personal cause in my life than normalizing discussions around mental health. I have personally struggled with mental health issues at different stages of my life, as have many people I care for and love, and the stigma and lack of knowledge and understanding around mental health, repeatedly, only worsened my (and their) efforts to recover. In 2000, after a family member became ill, I started volunteering at NAMI in New York City. In February 2026, I was appointed to the Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Board. I have also served on the board of directors at Bring Change to Mind (2018-present) and Backline (2020-2024).

At Bring Change to Mind our mission is to end the stigma associated with mental illness. We currently oversee over 200 high school programs throughout the United States, where students are encouraged to openly discuss their mental health with their peers.
